Job description

As part of our growth, we are hiring an Application Engineer to support the adoption and deployment of innovative Solid-State Circuit Breaker (SSCB) solutions for next-generation power electronics systems. You will explore new application opportunities, develop customer-oriented demonstrators, and collaborate with industrial and research partners to accelerate the integration of advanced semiconductor-based protection technologies. 

  • Explore and qualify new applications for semiconductor-based power protection technologies and SSCB solutions.  
  • Design, develop, and validate demonstrators, prototypes, and customer evaluation platforms showcasing SSCB performance and benefits.  
  • Investigate the integration of Wide Bandgap (WBG) devices into fast, selective, and intelligent protection functions.  
  • Develop advanced test benches and perform characterization campaigns including fast transient, short-circuit, surge, and Safe Operating Area (SOA) testing.  

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with customers and external partners to co-develop innovative AC and DC power distribution architectures for applications such as smart buildings, data centers, electric vehicles, and aerospace systems.  
  • Build and maintain expertise in:  WBG semiconductor devices, device physical limitations (SOA, dv/dt, di/dt, thermal constraints) and protection and fast interruption topologies. 
  • Prepare application notes, technical reports, and design guidelines.  
  • Monitor technology trends and market developments related to electronic protection solutions and power distribution systems.  

Job requirements

  • Engineering degree or MSc in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.  
  • 5 to 10 years Experience in power electronics and power semiconductor technologies.  
  • Understanding of fast electrical protection challenges including short-circuit protection, current limiting, and protection coordination.  
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, fast current probes, power supplies, and electronic loads.  
  • Strong analytical skills, hands-on experimental mindset, and ability to formalize technical findings.   
  • Comfortable working in collaborative and multidisciplinary environments involving industrial and academic partners.  
  • Autonomous, rigorous, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
